To Stand or Kneel
A simple truth occurred to me in a discussion about the whole 'take a knee protest' last night. A very respectful and intelligent woman that I was in the discussion with said that we needed to back up our spiritual practices (I was saying that our nation needs to practice repentance and forgiveness in turning back to the Lord if we want Him to heal our land), with earthly action (she is pro-protest.)
Honestly, I wasn't sure where I stood on the matter. I knew that the Lord wasn't calling me to put a whole lot of time into what football players were doing in general so I wasn't paying much attention. But a Canadian friend asked what it was all about and I entered into the discussion. At then end I believe the Lord spoke very, very clearly.
Even if WHAT they are kneeling for needs attention, the Lord cannot partner with a spirit of REBELLION (that is an Absalom spirit-2 Samuel 15) to bring about healing and change. He is waiting for us to approach HIM in humility and repentance so He can do what only He can do-heal the hearts of men. This will not happen through the media, this will not happen through marches, this will not happen through using our platform to stand against men or principal. This will only happen when we stand against the enemy with our full armor on and wake up to the fact that we do not war against flesh and blood.
Racism is EVIL to the core. There is a demonic principality behind it (I believe the Holy Spirit revealed to me it is the same spirit that caused Cain to hate and kill his brother!) that will not be stopped through taking one knee in protest.
This demon of racism can only be stopped as one heart at a time humbly turns to the Lord in repentance, releasing forgiveness toward anyone who has ever partnered with this disgusting Cain spirit, and partnering with JESUS to love our enemy. "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
