Sourdough Pumpkin Spice Bagels with Fresh Cream Cheese
Making homemade bagels is just like making rolls, except you give them a hole before rising, and a quick water bath before baking! They're so easy in fact, that there really is no need to settle for store bought.
I was out of cream cheese when I made these and I am so glad the nearest store is 40 minutes away round trip or I would never have discovered how easy it is to make, and how absolutely amazing it tastes! (Recipe under Bagel recipe.) I also made 20 minute Pumpkin Butter by throwing together the rest of my pumpkin puree, spices, maple syrup, apple cider and a sprinkle of salt. Just simmer to meld flavors and create the right texture. No recipe needed!
