The Undeniable Benefits of Raw Dairy (and the Dangers of Homogenization & Pasteurization!)

MY AHA MOMENT


When I read about the pasteurization of milk in Dr. Rex Russel's book, What the Bible Says About Healthy Living, a large bell went off in my brain. An, "AHA! This makes so much sense!" Moment resonated so deep in my spirit that there was no going back. I had heard the buzz about raw milk for years, and even learned of dairy farmers in WI, IL, and other states being arrested for selling their cow's milk from their farms, altering me to the fact that if the you-know-who are going to those lengths to prevent us from having it, it must be VERY good for us. But since I lived in the suburbs of Chicago and it didn't seem feasible to attain raw milk on a regular basis I decided to ignore the nagging in my mind telling me to investigate. Ignorance is bliss, Lol. Thankfully, not too long after I read the aforementioned book we relocated to the middle of farm country and a quick google led me to a weekly delivery of fresh, raw, dairy. Praise Jesus! And the great news is, it is now legal to buy direct from the farmer in most states. I will attach a list of state laws regarding raw milk at the end of this article, for now, let's discuss WHY it's amazing!

First, my aha moment came when I realized what exactly homogenized milk is. It is milk that has been mechanically heated and then forced through tiny holes to break down the fat molecules so that it stays evenly combined as it sits on a shelf. The problem with this is that those fat molecules, created perfectly in size for the good of our body when we drink milk, now pass into our bloodstream BEFORE going through the digestive system as YHWH intended. I believe this is the cause for clogged arteries, allergies, and other harmful effects on our health.


In addiction, pasteurization of milk has been shown to:

  • Reduce the bioavailability of calcium and phosphorus

  • Reduce the presence of copper and iron

  • Reduce Vitamins A, B Complex, C, and E

  • Destroy beta-lactoglobulin, thereby decreasing intestinal absorption of Vitamins A and D

  • Destroy probiotics, including lactobacillus and pediococcus, and

  • Inactivate beneficial enzymes, including lactase, alkaline phosphatase, and lactoperoxidase*

THE BENEFITS OF CONSUMING RAW DAIRY!

According to the Raw Milk Institute,

  • "A study of over 8,000 European children showed that raw milk consumption is

associated with significantly lower rates of asthma and allergies

  • A study of over 900 European children concluded that, "Continuous farm [raw] milk consumption in childhood protects against asthma at school age"

  • A study of over 14,800 European children concluded that there is a "significant inverse association between farm [raw] milk consumption and childhood asthma, rhinoconjunctivitis, sensitization to pollen, a mix of food allergens, and horse dander".

  • A study of over 3,000 USA adults concluded that, " Raw milk, if the main type of milk consumed in childhood, was also associated with reduced risk of atopy" and current raw milk consumption in adulthood intensified this beneficial effect.

  • A study of over 3,000 USA adults concluded that, "raw milk consumption, particularly early in life, is associated with better pulmonary function in adulthood".

  • A study of over 900 European children concluded that, "Early life consumption of raw cow's milk reduced the risk of manifest respiratory infections and fever by about 30%".

  • A study of over 4,000 European children found that consumption of raw milk was associated with a strong protective effect against eczema."*
