Will the Real Church Please Stand Up?
Do you feel it too? Sitting in the chair at church on Sunday morning, that something is just not quite right? Is it that every detail is orchestrated? Is it that it's a Sunday and our hearts long for the true Sabbath even though weve been told that's been done away with our entire life?
My heart is strirring and has been for about five years now if I am really honest. From the moment that I got home from missions in Brazil I knew, I could no longer just sit like a lemming watching a performance at church. This is not how it is supposed to be, but I did it anyway. People say we can't live on the mountaintop but I beg to differ. Jesus and his disciples did. The early church did...I'm convinced. It didn't look like this. The gathering of the saints didn't look like this. It was more, so much more.
The fellowship of the saints wasn't a bunch of broken people coming together to sing and pray in the midst of sin and brokeness. It was healed and set free believers coming together to encourage each other in the work of the Kingdom. Waiting on Holy Spirit to empower them anew for going out into the world to make more disciples! Each believer present waiting for Holy Spirit to show up to tell them what to do- speak, prophesy, interpret, encourage, heal, etc. When trouble came for one of them, they all took it on and fought it together then rejoiced in victory when they overcame! (Romans 12:15)
When new people came in then it was time to set them free in Jesus with healing and deliverance, baptize them in water and the Holy Spirit, impart spirtual gifts to them and train them.
Are you FREE in JESUS? Is your spirit, soul and body healed? Have you overcome the scars, sins and demons from your past? If not, then the church has failed you. If YES, then may I suggest that the gathering of the saints is for MINISTRY not mere observation? May I suggest that THERE IS MORE? May I suggest that there is something to the last day of the week being the Sabbath as laid out in scritpure from Genesis to Revelation?
Do I think I have it all correct? Definitely not. I am wrestling with God over all of this. But I do know that in these end times, we had better get it right. The Lord has so much to say to the churches getting it wrong. Read Revelation. We must get this right....
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore go and make disciples of allnations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you.
